Interpretive Data:
This test covers both RNP A and RNP 68. RNP antibodies occur in
approximately 50% of patients with lupus erythematosus (LE) and may
also occur in patients with other connective tissue diseases, notable
mixed connective tissue disease (MCTD). MCTD is characterized by high
levels of RNP antibodies without detectable Smith (Sm) or double-
stranded DNA antibodies.
Comments:
Assay methodology and reference ranges changed February 25, 2013.
Methodology:
Multiplex flow immunoassay
