Comments: |
If the screen is positive at 1:40, ANA titer will be performed. Fluorescent pattern(s) will be reported. Sera positive at 1:80 dilution will be held for approximately three months in case further testing is required. Sera positive at 1:320 or greater will be stored in serum bank for approximately six months. ANA screen will detect centromere and most other specificities, but may not detect Anti-SS-A-(Ro) Antibody. | ||

Indirect Immunofluorescence on Hep 2 cells | ||
Sample Processing: |
Centrifuge at 3500 RPM for 5 minutes. Aliquot serum into labeled container and cap. | ||
Sample Storage: |
Refrigerate serum 2-8 degree C. | ||
Transport Instructions: |
Place specimen into zip-lock type bag, seal bag. Place requisition into outside pocket of bag. Ship at ambient temperature. | ||
