microtubes for pediatric patients
Testing

Negative
Comments:
Hepatitis B Surface Antibody Quantitative can be ordered alone.
Quantitative result is typically used to monitor levels in the
Transplant patients.
Test
Limitations:
Nonspecific reaction may result from cross reactions in the immune
"sandwich" complex. Nonspecific reactions may include reactions with
certain glycoproteins, such as concanavalin A, which interact with
HBsAg. Milliman and McMichael have shown that this hepatitis B binding
substance is not antibody. Any highly sensitive enzyme immunoassay
system has the potential for nonspecific reaction in human serum or
plasma.
Methodology:
Microparticle Enzymatic ImmunoAssay (MEIA)
Sample
Processing:
Centrifuge at 3000 RPM for 10 minutes.
Aliquot plasma into labeled container and cap.
Label transport tube with two patient identifiers, date and time of
