Collection Medium:
Lavender top tube (EDTA)
Minimum:
5 mL blood in lavender or yellow top, 1 mL bone marrow aspirate in 
lavender or yellow top, or 3 cu mm tissue.  Tissue may be fresh frozen 
or paraffin embedded formalin fixed.  Body fluids in purple or yellow 
top tubes, Lymph node aspirates in RPMI.
Delivery Instructions:
Submit specimen to laboratory as soon as possible after collection.

Instructions:
Transport fresh tissue on dry ice.  Blood, bone marrow and lymph 
aspirates should be transported on ice.

Weekly
Analytic Time:
7 working days
Interpretive Data:
Used as an adjunct in initial diagnosis or as a monitor of minimal
residual disease.  When used as a monitor of minimal residual disease,
current samples must be analyzed in parallel with a previous diagnostic
sample.
Test
Limitations:
Specimens fixed in BS fixative are unsuitable for testing.
Methodology:
Multiplex PCR followed by Fluorescence Capillary Electrophoresis
CPT Code:
83890, 83900, 83901(x2), 83909(x4), 83912; if paraffin block or fresh 
tissue is submitted, remove CPT code 83890 and add replace it with 
83907.
