Minimum:
Vaginal discharge, urethral discharge, penile discharge or urethral- mucosal scrapings.
Testing Schedule:
24 hrs/day, 7 days a week, including holidays.
Analytic Time:
2 hours (upon receipt in laboratory)
Comments:
This test is used as a screen for Clue cells, fungi (Candida), protozoans (Trichomonas) in vaginal secretions. Test is run daily. Delivery Instructions: Place specimens in a small amount 0.85% NaCl (<1ml) in a collection tube that does not contain additives or anticoagulants.
