Minimum:
Adults: 6 mL; pink top tube

Pediatrics: 3 mL; lavender top tube

Neonate Patients (0 - <4 months):  0.5 cc (FULL) in an EDTA lavender 
microtainer

Patients 4 months - 1 year:  1 cc in a 3 cc EDTA tube
Rejection Criteria:
Specimen must be labeled with patient's first and last name and medical 
record number.  Specimens will be rejected if information is not on the 
label when received.
Testing Schedule:
24 hrs/day, 7 days a week, including holidays.
Analytic Time:
Average Turnaround time is 1-4 hrs, depending on the complexity of the 
antibody(ies).
Comments:
This test is ordered automatically on a sample that is positive for the 
RBC antibody screen, unless the ordering physician specifically 
prohibits reflex testing.

May include a professional consultation.
