Provide the patient's name, hospital number and surgical pathology specimen number.Please send a Surgical Pathology H-1 form to Immunopathology with this request. Progesterone Receptor (PR) expression in breast carcinomas, similar to estrogen receptor positivity, has been associated with tumor responsiveness to hormonal therapy. Immunohistochemical (IHC) staining of formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tumor sections has proven to be a sensitive means of defining positivity. An immunohistochemical score is generated by the interpreting pathologist. A score >2 has been used to define PR positivity. |
