Transfusion

Testing Schedule:

24 hrs/day, 7 days a week, including holidays.

Analytic Time:

2 hours (upon receipt in laboratory)

Comments:

Preparation time is 30-45 minutes.  Washed units have a shelf life of 
12 hours.

Methodology:

Red Blood Cells prepared from whole blood by centrifugation, washed 
with normal saline
