Reference Range: |
<20 micrograms/milligram creatinine. Not for use in patients with dipstick positive proteinuria. | ||
Comments: |
(Creatinine done on sample at no additional charge). Abnormal results should be followed up with a timed collection (see microalbumin, timed collection). Sample with urine protein > 30 mg/dl will have microalbumin canceled, and urine protein result reported and charged. | ||
Test Limitations: |
Criterion: Recovery within plus or minus 10% of initial value. Icterus: No significant interference up to an approximate conjugated bilirubin concentration of 66 mg/dl. Hemolysis: No significant interference up to an approximate hemoglobin concentration of 300 mg/dl. No interference from acetone is less than 60 mmol/l, ascorbic acid is less than 1 g/l, creatinine is less than 5 g/l, glucose is less than 20 g/l, uric acid is less than 700 mg/l, urea is less than 700 mmol/l and urobilinogen is less than 338mg/l. | ||
