Reference Range:
A normal serum sample shows a light diffused staining of polyclonal immunoglobulins in all tracks. The serum IFE report will include a descriptive report of abnormality, if present.
Comments:
Include relevant clinical information and consultation request. Quantitative kappa/lambda light chain ratios are recommended as a screen for suspected multiple myeloma, Waldenstrom's macroglobulinemia, or malignant lymphomas, except in the setting of bone marrow or solid organ transplantation.
