Medical Education
Certificate
With recent approval from
the UI Provost’s office, the Carver College of Medicine
now offers a certificate in medical education. Available to College
faculty and professional staff, as well as UI resident physicians
and fellows, the certificate program gives interested individuals
a new way to enhance their scholarship and skills in teaching,
curriculum design, and educational assessment. If students complete
the certificate and then decide to apply to the Masters in Medical
Education (MME) Program, courses taken for the certificate can
be applied to the MME degree.
Those interested in the Certificate will complete the application
form for “Non-Candidate for Degree” following the
same deadlines as the MME Degree (July 15 for fall admission,
November 15 for spring admission, and April 15 for summer admission)
as well as submitting the same materials as the MME Degree. Tuition
rates are the same as for the MME (see Table
9 of the Graduate tuition description).
