We are seeking an individual with previous experience working with microRNAs. Several projects are ongoing in the lab to look at differential expression of microRNAs during normal functions in the liver as well as in infected human livers. We are currently working to determine the mRNA targets of differentially expressed microRNAs and would like to look at the mechanisms that regulate the expression of these microRNA. Bioinformatic experience would also be desirable.
We are seeking an individual to join an ongoing project designing and testing zinc-finger nucleases that bind and cut hepatitis B virus genomes. Previous experience designing zinc-fingers would be desirable.
We are seeking an individual with experience in RNAi and/or experience working with adeno-associated viruses in mice. We have developed second generation RNAi against hepatitis B virus and are currently testing these constructs in transgenic mice.
The applicant should have expertise and a strong publication record in the any or all of the following areas: microRNA expression profiling, computational or empirical identification of microRNA target mRNAs, RNA interference, cell culture, viral vectors, zinc-fingers and bioinformatics. This position requires the ability to think independently, design innovative experiments with adequate controls and the ability to successfully obtain external fellowship support within the first year. Strong written and verbal skills are also required. The applicant should have or be about to obtain a PhD or MD.
