Steven R. Lentz received his M.D. and Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from Washington University in 1985. He completed clinical training in Internal Medicine and Hematology-Oncology at Barnes Hospital, and then returned to the laboratory as a post-doctoral fellow in the Howard Hughes Medical Institute at Washington University. In 1992 he joined the faculty of the University of Iowa, where he is now the Henry Hamilton Professor of Hematology in the Department of Internal Medicine. As a practicing hematologist, Dr. Lentz cares for patients with hemostatic and hematological disorders, including those with hemophilia or thrombophilia. In his research laboratory, Dr. Lentz studies basic mechanisms of thrombosis and vascular disease. |
