Gene Transfer to Other Tissues

The viral vectors we develop for deliveryof transgenes of brain find application to other systems, such as lung (15, 16), and liver-based (17,18) gene therapy. We focus our studies on understanding the limitations of the vector systems for the particular tissue, and developing ways to overcome those limitations. We use a molecular virology, cell biology, animal model, and molecular genetics to manipulate the vector systems under study.
