 Standardized Patient Actor Training

Thank you for your willingness to help medical students learn to take better care of their elderly patients. Through your participation in the Geriatric Standardized Patient activity, students will gain experience and insight regarding how to promote function, and thus quality of life, for older adults.

The purpose of this online training program is to prepare you to play the role of an elderly patient with either Alzheimer's disease or Parkinson's disease. It will also discuss the meaning of function and demonstrate how these diseases lead to functional problems.

Get Acrobat Reader Within these modules, there are links to printable copies of several documents you will need to play the role of a patient with Alzheimer's disease or Parkinson's disease. Viewing and printing these documents requires the free Adobe Reader. If you do not have the Adobe Reader, please click the button to the right to download it.
