 Best-Practice Geriatric Oral Health Training

The training modules listed below were developed to help health care providers learn about the role of oral health in promoting quality of life for older adults, and about a simple model and set of tools and techniques that can be used to enhance oral health for older adults. Each module contains didactic information about its associated topic. The modules on the Oral Health Assessment Tool (OHAT) and the Oral Health Care Plan (OHCP) contains interactive practice exercises to help you learn to use these tools.

This Best Practice Oral Health Model and training program was developed by Jane Chalmers, BDSc, MS, PhD, Associate Professor in the University of Iowa College of Dentistry's Geriatric and Special Needs Program.
