GeriaSims

GeriaSims are interactive, "virtual patient" simulations on the care of older adults. They are designed for physicians, residents and fellows, and medical students. GeriaSims are approved for CME credit.

GeriaFlix & GeriaTrax

GeriaFlix & GeriaTrax are multidisciplinary presentations on geriatric topics in a streaming digital video and/or audio format with synchronized slides. They are appropriate for learners in medicine, nursing, pharmacy, and other allied health disciplines, and are approved for CME and nurse CEU credit.

Geriatric Consult Service Curriculum

This eight-unit curriculum consists of didactic material, interactive case studies, and selected GeriaSims simulations and GeriaFlix & GeriaTrax presentations. It is used in the inpatient geriatric rotation for internal medicine residents at the University of Iowa, and is available for use by learners in other training programs.

Best-Practice Geriatric Oral Health Training

This program uses a GeriaFlix & GeriaTrax presentation, didactic material, and interactive case studies to teach a simple model, set of tools, and techniques that can be used to enhance oral health for older adults with dementia. It is targeted at health professionals such as medical directors, nurses, and nurse aides.

Train-the-Preceptor Program in Functional Assesment

The Train-the-Preceptor Program in Functional Assessment was developed to train community physicians who precept medical students in the principles and practical strategies of office-based functional assessment, and in methods of teaching these to their students.
