ER visits for mental health and substance abuse nationally
A recent (July 2010) report from teh Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality
indicating 12.5% of all ER visits nationally are accounted for by mental illness or substance abuse problems.

Origingally broadcast in April 2011, this tells an all to common story of patients with serious mental health crises, determined to need hospitalization, but there is no where to send the. Worth the few minutes it takes to listen to.

wonderful set of programs, offered at the University of Iowa
on an ongoing basis; great for people with anxiety and mood
disorders, but potentially helpful for all.
The
STEPPS Model for Borderline Personality Disorder
STEPPS
(Systems Training for Emotional Predictability and Problem
Solving) was developed at the University of Iowa as an adaptation
of Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and appears to be an effective
and practical approach to treating borderline personality
disorder.
