Dietetic Internship Program

How to Apply

Application Procedure
  • Application to the dietetic internship program requires that you successfully complete the American Dietetic Association (ADA) Didactic Program in Dietetic (DPD) requirements and at least a bachelor’s degree at a U.S. regionally accredited university or college prior to the start date of the internship.  All students meeting the academic requirements for ADA Didactic Program in Dietetic will be considered.  The selection of dietetic interns is made from the best qualified candidates without discrimination for any non-merit reason such as race, national origin, color, creed, religion, sex, age, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or associational preference.  The evaluation is based on:

    • Scholarship (a total GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is preferred)

    • Work Experience
    • Graduate Record Examination (GRE) score (a total of 1000 or more on the verbal + quantitative scores is preferred)
    • Extracurricular activities/honors/leadership
    • Letter of application
    • Academic and work references

No specific attempt is made to produce a wide geographical variation.  Applicants from the same college or university are selected on the basis of individual qualification and there is no limit on the number selected from the same college or university.

All applicants to Dietetic Internships (DI) must participate in computer matching. Applicants should request instructions and a mark/sense card to prioritize their DI preferences. Applicants should request this material from any ADA-approved Didactic Program in Dietetics or from D&D Digital Systems. This request should be made to allow turn around time for submitting by a February 15, 2007 postmark deadline to be considered for the August, 2007 class.  There is no charge for this material. However, there is a $50.00 charge for computer matching that is due with the applicant's prioritized ranking.
