The dietetic internship is a 44-week program
beginning two weeks prior to the start of the University of Iowa
academic year. The 2008-2009 class begins on August 11, 2008 and ends on
June 3, 2009. The dietetic interns complete a series of rotations in
management, clinical, and community areas in addition to earning 9 hours
of graduate credit in the College of Public Health and Carver College of Medicine.The rotation schedule is developed according to the following
guidelines:

Fall Semester:
Dietetic interns are in classes all day on Mondays
and Wednesdays. They are in rotations on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and

Additional guidelines for the schedule include:
Interns are given work days off for weekend days
worked on a one-to-one basis
Requests for changes in the weekly work schedule are
submitted to the Dietetic Internship Director
Interns are given 4 days of personal leave for
illness, funeral, personal time, interviewing, etc. Any additional time
taken must be made up.
