The University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
Continuing Medical Education (CME) is offered by the Carver College of Medicine to assist practicing physicians and other health professionals in the lifelong process of maintaining and enhancing clinical knowledge and skills that will result ultimately in the best possible health status for their patients.
The University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine and its Continuing Medical Education Division are eager to respond to the important, lifelong educational needs of physicians and allied health personnel. Individualized consideration, traineeships, and educational programs are available upon request.
- CME Credit for your Program
- To request CME creditl for your conference, please contact the CME Division by calling 319/335-8597 or 319/335-8601. We will review the application process with you and discuss our fees.
- Event Planning Support
- The CME Division provides comprehensive event planning services in addition to assisting you with the CME credit process. Please contact Lori Bailey Raw at 319/335-8601 for a complete description of our event planning services.
- Enduring Materials
- Review of Web-based, print, audiovisual, and multimedia materials for category 1 CME certification.
- Traineeships
- Depending on availability of College of Medicine faculty, the CME Division assists in arranging individualized instruction for interested physicians who wish to enhance their knowledge in selected areas of medical care. Visiting physicians may join in rounds, see outpatients, participate in departmental conferences, and discuss issues and concerns with faculty.
