Atlantic Cod CL Nomenclature1    [04-19-2002]  

The Ig light chain locus in teleost fish has a multicluster form of organization i.e. the V-J-C segments are repeated in the genome so it is not quite clear if each cluster should be considered as a separate locus or alleles. Here the word alleles have been used because all the C segments sequenced today vary to a similar degree as alleles would do.
