Epilepsy
Epilepsy is a condition where a person has recurrent seizures. Many acute medical problems, such as:
Infection
Injury
Low blood sugar
Poisoning
can cause seizures. Many times, treating the medical problem can eliminate seizure activity. If a person has recurrent seizures in the absence of any of these factors, he or she is said to have a seizure disorder, or epilepsy. The nature of a seizure depends on which brain structures are affected.
