Asperger Syndrome

Asperger syndrome is a pervasive developmental disorder, or PDD. It is "pervasive" in that it affects a person in many ways. It is "developmental" because it has an impact on development, especially in the areas of behavior, social skills, and communication.

The signs of Asperger syndrome may be mild or severe. It can be hard to identify children who have this syndrome. As a result, they often go undiagnosed and untreated. Sometimes people with Asperger syndrome are diagnosed with Autism.
