Driving Instructions

Coming from the NORTH:

• Follow Interstate 380 south; it will become Highway 218.
• Take Highway 218 south to the Melrose Avenue exit.
• Turn east (left) on Melrose Avenue, go to the stop light at Hawkins Drive. Heavily patrolled, speed limit 25 mph.
• Turn north (left) on Hawkins Drive and follow it past two stop lights (the entrances to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics).
• As reach the bottom of a hill and as Hawkins Drive begins to curve sharply to the left, watch for a driveway on the east (right) side. Turn into this drive and you are here.

Coming from the SOUTH:

• Take Highway 218 north to the Melrose Avenue exit.
• Turn east (right) on Melrose Avenue, go to the stop light at Hawkins Drive. Heavily patrolled, speed limit 25 mph.
• Turn north (left) on Hawkins Drive and follow it past two stop lights (the entrances to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics).
• As reach the bottom of a hill and as Hawkins Drive begins to curve sharply to the left, watch for a driveway on the east (right) side. Turn into this drive and you are here.

Coming from the EAST:

• Take Interstate 80 west to Exit 242, which is First Avenue in Coralville.
• Turn south (left) on First Avenue and follow it to the intersection with Highway 6 (Second Street).
• Turn south (left) on Highway 6 (Second Street) and follow it to Hawkins Drive.
• Turn south (right) on Hawkins Drive and follow it past Carver Hawkeye Arena on the left and large metallic eagle on your right.
• Go down the hill past the College of Dentistry. As Hawkins Drive begins a sharp curve to the right; watch for a driveway on your left.
• Turn left into this drive, and you are here.

Coming from the WEST:

• Take Interstate 80 east to exit 242, which is First Avenue in Coralville.
• Turn south (right) on First Avenue and follow it to the intersection with Highway 6 (Second Street).
• Turn east (left) on Highway 6 (second Street) and follow it to Hawkins Drive.
• Turn south (right) on Hawkins Drive and follow it past Carver Hawkeye Arena on the left and a large metallic eagle on your right.
